Pricing

Pigs can be purchased in varying quantities, and are priced on a per pound basis according to the Mangalitsa’s live weight before harvest. Processing fees are included, ranging from approximately $0.50 to $0.55 per pound. Live weight can vary and fluctuate, ranging from 250 - 350 pounds per hog, with a price of approximately $4.00/pound.

Purchasing a hog could be ideal for a special event, to split among a group of friends or families, or for storage for continual consumption. Because Mangalitsas are higher in fat content, enhancing meat flavor, only approximately 30%-40% of the live weight will consist of lean meat. Keep this in mind when reserving your Mangalitsa! After making a reservation, a cut sheet will be provided to make your selection seamless.

Selections

Full Hog

A full hog’s weight can vary between 250 - 350 pounds, producing 88 -123 pounds of lean meat per hog.

 

1/2 Hog

A half of a hog’s weight can range between 125 - 175 pounds, producing approximately 44 - 62 pounds of lean meat.

 

1/4 Hog

A quarter of a hog’s weight can range between 63 - 88 pounds, producing approximately 22 - 31 pounds of lean meat.

Roaster Hogs

Roaster hogs may be available upon request, with weight ranging from 90 to 125 pounds at $4.00 / pound.
